About This
Half of one of our AGH Hamroc pigs, about a year old. Live weights run 200 to 300 pounds, so expect about 50 to 110 pounds of meat: chops, bacon, ham, ribs, butt, shoulder, spare ribs, ground pork and lard. The deposit holds your half; the balance is due once the hanging weight is confirmed, and the processor's charges are paid to the processor. Ask about special cuts: some cost extra at the processor. No corn, no soy, no antibiotics. Pasture-raised and born on our farm, from AGH Hamroc pigs fed fermented peanut and milo, hay and forage, with acorns in season.
How the Price Works
The animal goes to a processor, and what you pay is its hanging weight — the carcass weight the processor records before cutting — at $6.00 a pound. Your deposit counts toward it. The seller tells you the weight and what is left to pay once it has been weighed.
